2022 Nissan Ariya: price and specs of every version

After pioneering the first ever electric vehicle on the market, the Leaf, the Japanese automaker Nissan is back at it with an exciting electric SUV: the Ariya. The Ariya boasts several advantages, including an impressive total autonomy that sets it apart from all competitors in its class.

Ariya Engage

The Ariya Engage is the entry-level version of this crossover, but it is very well equipped anyway.

Let's go over the powertrain first: it is equipped with a 214 horsepower electric motor that generates 221 lb-ft of torque. This engine is coupled with a 65 kWh battery (63kWh usable). The Nissan SUV relies on a front-wheel drive system, which increases its range to 346 km. Higher trims can also be equipped with a bigger battery.

The new 2022 Ariya promises to be very futuristic, especially with its advanced technologies. The first thing you will notice is its huge screen: the digital instrument panel measures 12.3 inches, and it is connected to a second 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen. You can connect to it wirelessly with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and you can also enjoy every feature via Amazon Alexa. The information can even move from one screen to the other depending on your needs!

Every version also comes standard with ProPILOT Assist. This is an autonomous driving system that lets you take your hands off the wheel on the highway and sometimes even in corners. The vehicle even detects off-ramps and curves using map information from the navigation system. Even better, the Navi-Link technology also allows you to drive in heavy traffic without touching the steering wheel, for example.

Ariya Evolve

The Evolve version is also equipped with the 65 kWh battery, but with the addition of a second electric motor. The vehicle is equipped with the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, specially designed for the Nissan SUV. This system allows the vehicle to send up to 100% of the power from the front wheels to the rear wheels for absolute control and precision on the road.

In addition, the second engine greatly increases the vehicle's power output, reaching an impressive 335 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque! As for range, this version boosts that number to 330 km.

This version also adds plenty of features such as a panoramic sunroof and additional technologies such as a full-colour head-up display. When it comes to comfort, Nissan's zero-gravity seats, known for their excellent support, come standard. This means that you get to enjoy the advantages of a classic Nissan vehicle and the futuristic look of an electric car. Also note that all the controls on board are tactile!

Ariya Venture+

This version adds a "+" to its name, and with good reason: it is equipped with a bigger battery, with a capacity of 90 kWh instead (87 kWh usable). Since it is equipped with front-wheel drive, which is more energy-efficient, the Venture+ model boasts the best range in the line-up at 482 km.

With this model, you will never have to worry about running out of battery on the road. Besides, it also comes with a fast charging port so you can recharge it in the blink of an eye.

When it comes to power, the Ariya offers a whopping 238 horsepower! And let's not forget all the fun of an electric car, especially with its silent ride and its instant torque. Nissan has not yet revealed the price of the Ariya in Canada, but we do know that it starts at $47,125 in US dollars with the Venture+ version. The battery also makes it eligible for federal government incentives. Let's hope that Nissan keeps the Ariya under the strategic price of $45,000 for an even bigger subsidy.

Ariya Evolve+

Equipped with the same powertrain as the Venture+, the Evolve+ version packs in even more advanced features. For example, you will find the intelligent perimeter display, which combines four cameras to provide a 360-degree view around your vehicle and detects any movement near it.

These features add a little weight to the vehicle, which reduces its range to 458 km. But that number is still well above average!

Ariya Platinum+

Would you like the biggest battery and e-4ORCE all-wheel drive? The Ariya Platinum+ is exactly what you were looking for! On top of its incredible precision and stability on the road, this version unleashes a whopping 389 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of instant torque! As for its total autonomy, it offers a range of 426 km.

This version also adds several features such as a motion-activated power liftgate and ProPILOT Park. You are sure to love ProPILOT Park, which lets you simply push a button and let your vehicle park itself safely.

Ariya Premiere

From a mechanical perspective, the Ariya Premiere is similar to the Platinum version. However, it also adds a full package of comfort features and additional technologies. More details to coming soon!
